Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash with Flatbed Truck

Police state that the accident was caused by the motorcyclist’s failure to control his speed.

March 4, 2019 – 9:00 pm: A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash with a flatbed truck in the Eastex area on Monday night. A few lanes of the freeway were shut down for several hours after the crash, but all lanes of the highway were reopened by 12:30 a.m.

The crash took place on Interstate 69 near Crosstimbers. Both vehicles were travelling eastbound near Crosstimbers at the time of the crash.

The motorcyclist failed to control the speed of his vehicle, according to HPD. He hit the back of the flatbed, which was carrying wood. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The truck driver remained at the scene of the accident. He was not injured in the crash and police said he showed no signs of intoxication. There is no indication of whether the motorcyclist was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The identities of those involved in the accident have not been made public at this time. The crash is still under investigation, and more information will be made available as it comes to light.
