Man Injured in Austin Wreck

According to news reports, the crash took place early Wednesday morning and was cleared up about an hour and a half later.

 

January 2, 2019 – 6:15 am: An unidentified man was seriously injured in a crash in north Austin on Wednesday morning. The man was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place on the 7800 block of North Interstate 35 at Highway 183 in north Austin.

Rescue teams had to free the man from the car on Wednesday morning. The man’s identity has not been made public at this time, and the specifics of his injuries are also unknown as of now.

Neither the police, the fire department, nor EMS have commented on the cause of the accident or on the number of vehicles involved in the crash.

Traffic along northbound lanes of I-35 was diverted onto the frontage road for a time, but according to a tweet from ATCEMS, all lanes had been reopened by 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

The cause of the accident and the circumstances leading up to the crash are still unknown at this time. Austin police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
