Rusk County House Fire Kills Two Children

According to news reports, two children were killed and their father was burned in the fire, which started on Wednesday afternoon.

November 7, 2018 – 4:30 pm: Two children were killed in a fire that broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Rusk County. The Texas Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate the fire.

The fire happened near the intersection of Highway 42 and Highway 64 E, breaking out in the afternoon. Firefighters of the Rusk County Fire Department arrived on the scene and were able to bring the fire under control in short order.

The two children killed in the fire were the two-year-old Matthew Wayne Pepper and the four-year-old RaeLynn Faith Pepper. They were both removed from the home and brought to the hospital by ambulance, but they were both pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The children’s father, Dakota Pepper, was burned in the fire and has since been hospitalized. His condition has not been made public. The children’s mother was not injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time. The Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into the causes, and this investigation is ongoing.
