Big Rig Kills Pedestrian on Northwest Freeway

According to witnesses on the scene, it appears as though the man intentionally jumped in front of the truck before the incident took place.

October 4, 2018 – 11:40 am: A man was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler on the Northwest Freeway on Thursday morning. Witnesses report that the event may have been intentional.

The incident took place on the eastbound lanes of US 290, where the Pinemont Drive bridge crosses over the highway.

Witnesses on the scene say that the man intentionally jumped from the bridge onto the freeway before being hit by the big rig. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

The freeway’s eastbound lanes were shut down for about three hours after the accident, while investigators and cleanup crews worked on the road.

The identity of the dead man has not been made public at this time, nor has the identity of the driver of the big rig that hit him.

Police have not officially declared the death a suicide, although they have made it clear that the truck driver is not likely to face any charges related to the incident. As of now, the crash is still under investigation.
